Marketing in the Metaverse.

Yes, I’ve been talking about this one for a while, but mark my words it’s sneaking up quickly. So watch Spielberg’s Ready Player One or better yet read Ernest Cline’s two books Ready Player One and Two along with 1992 science fiction novel Snow Crash, author Neal Stephenson imagined the metaverse as a future iteration of the internet where humans as avatars would interact with each other in 3D virtual spaces as a metaphor of the real world. This shift is going to be one of the largest shifts we’ve seen in a long time … we are where we were in social media 17, 18 years ago… have you seen the cypto billionaires amassing and NFTs developing on the blockchain?!

Social gaming platforms like Roblox, Fortnite, Animal Crossing, Minecraft, and Second Life are starting to show some of this potential at scale, particularly for younger generations. Mark Zuckerberg recently framed Facebook’s future strategy as helping “bring the metaverse to life.” (No, Facebook should not be leading or owning this charge, as they are sucking the literal life right out of society).

And don’t simply think about your products showing up here, play in the world in a new way – say rocketpacks and teleports. Just saying… #wakeupimagine#metaverse#themetaverse#brands#marketoon
